We look forward to marking the release of Channel Issue 8 with both in-person and online launches. Whether you can join us in Dublin or prefer to tune in online, we can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Issue 8 is now available for pre-order. Those who can afford to further support our work may consider subscribing to Channel to receive each new issue upon its release, or becoming a patron to also receive access to our digital archive of back issues as well as acknowledgement in print and online.

In-Person Launch at Books Upstairs

The in-person launch of Channel Issue 8 will take place at Books Upstairs, D’Olier Street, on Thursday 10 August, 6.30pm–8.00pm.

We’re delighted to be sharing the launch of our first bilingual issue with the team at Books Upstairs, whose support as a stockist over the past four years has been invaluable. Check out their website to learn about the shop’s history as a hub for the circulation of progressive ideas in literature and politics, and to browse their beautiful range of books on nature and ecology.

The evening will feature readings by Issue 8 contributors, along with a performance of traditional music from Muirine Nic Roibín and Anne-Marie Bell, and refreshments will be provided.

No RSVP required; if you’re free on the night please come along and celebrate with us.

Accessibility
The launch will be held in Books Upstairs’ ground floor bookshop space, and will therefore be accessible to guests unable to access the venue’s upper floors. Please note, however, that there is a small step from the footpath up to the venue door and that the venue’s toilets are up two flights of stairs. Limited seating will be avalable for guests for whom standing for the event’s duration may be difficult or uncomfortable. Please email info@channelmag.org with any other queries or access requirements.

Online Launch via YouTube Premiere

We continue to offer a digital launch for each issue in celebration of the broad community of Channel readers and contributors unable to join us for an in-person event in Dublin.

This issue’s online launch will take place via YouTube Premiere on Wednesday 9 August, starting at 6.30pm. It will feature readings in English and Irish from local and international contributors, along with photography showcasing the environments that have inspired their work.

The launch video will be viewable below at the time of its release. You can also open the link directly in YouTube to participate in a live chat with other readers and contributors.
