Launch of Channel Issue 14
Issue 14 is now available for pre-order, and we’re thrilled to share that this issue’s launch will be hosted by the Kirkos Ensemble at 1 Little Green Street, Smithfield, on Thursday 14 May from 7.00 p.m.–9.00 p.m.
1 Little Green Street (formerly home to Arran Street East pottery school) is operated by Kirkos, a musical ensemble aiming in their own words “to develop the ecosystem that thrives at the fringes of Irish new music and high-concept performances”, as a unique open space for experimental music and arts programming. This venue represents a rare thing – an affordable space for rehearsal and performance of new work regardless of commercial viability, run by and for artists, that has been able to survive to date within a precarious arts infrastructure – and we can’t wait to share Channel‘s new issue with the Kirkos team.
The launch will feature contributor readings along with a performance from our musical guest Christian Wethered. The event will be livestreamed via Channel‘s Instagram for those unable to attend in-person.
Attendance is free, with no registration required, and all are very welcome to join us.
Accessibility: The Kirkos space is wheelchair accessible and there will be seating available for those who need it. We regret that, though a bathroom will be available for guests, the bathroom is not wheelchair accessible. Please feel free to contact us with further accessibility queries at info@channelmag.org and we will do our best to meet your needs.
